The Limerick Regeneration “Our City” project is now in its third year. This project involves all students from senior infants to sixth class in primary schools and secondary schools in the North and Southside Regeneration areas of the city. The following schools are currently participating: Corpus Christi N.S, St. Mary’s N.S, Galvone N.S, Our Lady of Lourdes N.S, Gaelscoil Sheorise Clancy, St. Nessan’s Community School, Ardscoil Mhuire Corbally, St. Enda’s Community School and Presentation Secondary School. Approx 700 students will have benefited from this partnership during the 2014/15 school year. “We had the “Our City” programme delivered to 3rd class by Mr Dave Walsh from Dell. We really enjoyed having Dave come into our classroom. It was a great opportunity for the children to learn about things that are not necessarily covered in the school curriculum. Thanks to time and commitment of volunteers from local supporting organisations such as Northern Trust, Dell, Stryker, AIB and GECAS these students have been given the opportunity to engage with local business people and learn more about the links between education and their future careers.

The secondary school students also participated in the “The Economics of Staying in School” and the “Success Skills” programmes. In the next few weeks these students will be participate in “School to Work “Days in the following kindly hosted by Dell, Genworth Financial and Limerick City and County Council.
