On 19th November 50 students from Nagle Community College, Mahon and St. Peter’s Community College, Passage West were hosted by the Janssen group of companies in Cork to recognsise International Men’s Day 2016.
International Men’s Day aims to celebrate students postive achievements and their contributions to their community, school and places of work. It’s objectives include focusing on gender equality, inproving gender relations and highlightling positive male role models. Janssen have been a commited supporter of this international event which is celebrated annually in over 80 countries.
Nagle Community College visited Janssen Pharmaceutical, Little Island to learn about some of the different roles available in a pharmaceutical business in Ireland today. St. Peter’s Community College were the gusts of Janssen Biologics in Ringaskiddy, where the staff shared a little of their work and life experience with the students. Both groups were also given a site tour.
Speaking at the event, Cliona O’Geran, said “The Diversity and Inclusion Team were delighted to welcome the students to Janssen on International Men’s day. It was great to offer an insight into the work we do here and it was a opportunity for students to engage with our staff and discover the career possibilites available to them.”
