American International Group (AIG) has supported Ireland both worldwide and locally for the last 7 years. Their support helps us work with students across Dublin and surrounding counties and allows students of all ages to participate in JAI programmes to engage in real-world, experiential activities about careers, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths), Entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
“Junior Achievement is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed,” said Aoibheann Doyle, Education Manager JA Ireland. “AIG volunteers are always first to jump up and support the JAI initiatives. Currently, we have 14 AIG volunteers facilitating numerous programmes that help students with preparing for their careers, with many more projects in the works for the year to come. We greatly appreciate AIG’s support of this mission and of the tens of thousands of young people reached by JA programs benefiting from this partnership.”
“What unites us at AIG is our commitment to helping communities prepare for and respond to times of uncertainty,” said Laura Gallagher, AIG’s Global Head of Corporate Citizenship and President of the AIG Foundation.
“Planning for the future can be intimidating, but with the help of this financial contribution and the volunteerism of colleagues at AIG, JA students are provided with the knowledge they need to make smart academic and economic choices.”
This is the seventh year AIG has granted funds to support Junior Achievement programmes, as well as recruitment and training of employee volunteers to share their skills and expertise with students. Through the partnership, AIG employees engage as dedicated classroom volunteer facilitators, board members, and supporters of other special events. JA has worked with AIG volunteers both virtually and in-person in schools. They serve to bring the curriculum to life as they help students to understand how to create a budget, become work-ready and develop a business plan.
